Karen O'Connor received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Our Lady of Holy Cross in New Orleans. She spent most of her professional life working with at-risk youth both as a therapist and as an administrator. Having counseled members of our military, couples and individuals of all ages, she has worked with people from all walks of life. Karen will provide you with an educational foundation for CPTSD. You will learn tools and skills to better manage your symptoms, and you will gain a clear understanding of what's happening to you physically when you trigger.
Many couples trigger each other resulting in fighting and blow ups. They often come to therapy not realizing that one or both has experienced a traumatic event or time in their lives, and that they have brought the trauma into their relationship.
A unique aspect of Karen's approach to therapy is that she has personal experience with depression, anxiety and CPTSD. "Those experiences help me to be a better therapist, giving me a deep understanding of what you might be feeling. I can share the many tools and insights I learned in my own journey." If you're ready to start, Karen is here to help.
